Activity Overview

Peabody Park is a small urban park in Memphis, Tennessee that is known for its wonderful sprayground. Each summer, families flock to the park to escape the summer heat with a visit to the park's sprayground and indoor swimming pool. Other features include an indoor basketball court, a large playground, beautiful public artwork, and the Skinner Development Center, a community center which offers recreational activities for individuals with disabilities.

Things to Do

  • Take your child to the splashground, where they can cool off in fountains, geysers, and misters while having fun.
  • Explore the huge playground, which has multiple slides, bridges, climbing structures, and other play equipment to entertain young children.
  • Visit the Skinner Development Center, a community center which contains a heated indoor pool, a game room, a ceramics studio, and a gym.

  • Don't miss the beautiful public artwork created by local artist Yvonne Bobo, including a fascinating metal sculpture of the solar system.
  • The sprayground opens each year on the 4th Saturday in May and closes for the season on the 2nd Monday in September.
  • If a child or adult in your family has a physical or mental disability, the Skinner Development Center offers several great programs that they may enjoy, including special camps, activities, and exercise classes.
