Activity Overview

Rice gallery is an Art gallery in Rice University Houston, TX, it displays art installations by artists from all over the world. The art installations are on-site and immersive art experiences that the visitors can enter and explore, an artist is invited to the art gallery to create a site-specific art installation that is one of a kind and can't be seen in other art galleries. The installations are temporary and are frequently rotated, artists from different parts of the country are invited. Rice gallery is open on select days of the week.

• Rice gallery is an interesting art gallery and a unique concept located in the Rice university that offers self-guided tours of the art installations.
• The gallery is located in Sewall Hall, free guided tours can be taken of the art gallery, on self-guided tours you can use the artist's information with the art installation.
• You can see an informative video about the artist who created the art piece and use the reading material.
• Usually young and emerging artists are invited to create an on-site art installation, the installations keep changing and are not permanent.
