Create your very own sea turtle pet with this Seashell Sea Turtle craft. In a few easy steps this child friendly craft yields adorable sea turtles that crafters are certain to love. Create one or a family of sea turtles using different sized shells. We used the shells from purchased stuffed clams and we washed them in the dishwasher and put them in the craft closet and we are so glad that we did. Shells can also be found on the beach or in your local craft store.
Materials Needed
- Green card stock
- Googly eyes
- Glue Gun
- A scallop or clam shell
- Brown Paint
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
How to Make It
- Paint your chosen seashell completely brown and allow to dry.
- While the paint is drying, take your green card stock and sketch out a drawing of a turtle body like the one shown above. It should include two legs, two arms, an oval head and a curvy thin triangular tail.
- Cut out the turtle body.
- Affix the seashell with fanning portion of the shell facing the head to the card stock with your glue gun.
- Glue two googly eyes to the head of your turtle.
