Activity Overview

California's rich history and culture is depicted through exhibits and artifacts found in the 20,000sq.ft. building of the museum at Sacramento.The museum aims to help educate people about the early beginnings of California up to the time when Hollywood has seemingly represented the state. It is also home to the California Hall of Fame, a recognition given to individuals who have made an impact and represented the state's ideals. Admission is free for children aged 5 and below.

Things to Do

• Visit the signature exhibits divided into sections such as the history as told by California Indians, the six-storey Constitution Wall, religious outposts of the California Missions, California Hall of Fame, and California's Remarkable Women exhibit.
• Check out what's on display at the changing exhibits area. The museum features 6-7 rotating exhibits. Visit their website to know more about the short-term exhibits on display.
• There are interactive displays for kids. Parents can also download activity guides prior to their visit so they can enrich their children's experience.
• Drop by the museum gift shop to purchase books and memorabilia of your trip.
