Tux Math Command is a great free math game for kids that helps them practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

If you're familiar with the old Atari game "Missile Command," you can see from the picture below that it's quite similar. And while it helps kids practice math skills, it's actually quite fun!

There are options to play alone, play with a few friends, or even play a different game about factoring that's like the other popular old Atari game Asteroids.

The first part of the menu is designed for the younger set, but if you have kids that are a little older, don't worry there's something for everyone. Here's a quick screenshot of the first section, which is suitable for young kids.

You can click on any button and don't need to do these in sequence, so if your kids are already good at typing numbers, you can skip directly to additional or subtraction. The two-digit addition can be great practice even for older kids. The second page of the menu gets more advanced with computation involving both positive and negative numbers.

More Advanced Exercises

There are even more advanced exercises like finding missing numbers in an equation (basic algebra), so if you have older kids, you may still want to check it out.

Download It for Free

The best thing is that Tux Math Command is free. It's available for PC, Mac, and even Linux, so go ahead and Download Free TuxMath to give it a try.
