Winnekenni Castle is located in the Winnekenni Park in the city of Haverhill, MA, the park is a 700 acres of conservation area. The historic castle was built in 1875. The park is popular among families for healthy activities and outdoor recreation, outdoor activities include jogging, bicycling, skiing, horse back riding, ice skating, hiking and more. The beautiful park is located near the Kenoza lake, the word "Winnekenni" means "very beautiful", the park is indeed a spot for nature lovers. Fishing is open at the Plug pond year round. Some of the activities are only open in the Summer season.

Things to Do

  • Visit Winnekenni park with your family—there are miles of marked trails you could use for hiking and bicycling with your kids.
  • If you want to see the castle, use the trail that leads up to the castle, the castle was built by a local Physician, Dr. James R. Nichols.
  • The plug pond near the castle can be used for swimming, boating and picnicking. The pond can be used for fishing year round.
