Braid Your Daffodils
Once your beautiful daffodils shrivel at the end of spring, here's a neat way to tailor the greens so the bulb can still absorb the nutrients. Braid them! It sounds weird, but it looks really nice and it's an interesting activity to do with the kids.
My daughter & I planted the daffodil bulbs last fall and had a great time seeing the efforts of our hard work this spring when they came up. Once the flowers died, we had a fun time braiding all the stems together so they will come back even stronger next year.
Another option would be to fold the stems over once and then tie them with a piece of the stem. Both look nice & neat and you can sort of feel productive while you are enjoying the outdoors.
