Brussel Sprouts??? YES
Well, no one is more surprised than I am about this tip!! Brussel sprouts have always been practically a curse word in my family. They are just disgusting (sorry if you like them, don't mean to insult you). But tonight I trusted a dear friend, made roasted brussel sprouts, and LOVED them! Even the kids didn't hate them. Here's all you do: Buy fresh brussel sprouts, about 1 pound. Cut off the stems and remove any loose outer leaves. Sprinkle with extra virgin olive oil, kosher salt, pepper and a little lemon juice. Spread out on a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 35 minutes, shaking them every 10 to 15 minutes. They should be dark brown or black on the outside and tender inside when they are done. Important: as soon as you take them out of the oven, add more salt. Let cool slightly and pop in your mouth. Yummy and nutritious.
