Decorate Plain Candles with Embellishments
At this site, you will find more ways to decorate your ordinary candles. I make interesting candlescapes by decorating candles with scrapbooking embellishments, tacks and buttons. To insert a push-pin, brad or tack-style embellishment to a candle, you want to heat the candle a bit first. Use a blow dryer, on low heat, or warm the candle by holding it with oven mitts that you just used to handle a hot dish or pot. If the candle is warm, the embellishment will slide into the wax easer, and not crack the candle. Also, I like to attach thick ribbons around the middle section of the candle. (It is easy to add ribbons to candles with hot glue or a similar craft glue.) Then, I glue a button in the middle of the ribbon for a charming country look.
