If you love to burn candles at dinner, but dread how they drip all over your good tableclothes, here is an easy way to remove wax that has spilled:
- Wait until the wax has completely cooled and hardened. If you want to speed up the process, throw the tablecloth in your freezer for a few minutes. Once the wax is hard, gently scrape it off with a dull knife.
- Cut a paper bag lengthwise and lay it on top of the wax stain. Set your iron on the hottest setting that the fabric can withstand and begin ironing over the paper. You will see the stains begin to soak up through the paper bag.
- Continue moving the bag around and ironing over the wax stain until no more oil appears on the paper.
- Once all of the oil is removed after ironing, simply throw the tablecloth in your washing machine by itself and use warm water and mild detergent. Your tablecloth will be good as new!
