Is Clipping Coupons Really Worth It?
Tara McAllister, mom of two and entreprenuer, says, "I love Sunday mornings. This email list and my Sunday paper along with my Dunkin Doughnuts coffee (homebrewed!) give me such joy. For myself and for many, Sunday mornings mean a pair of scissors, and a stack of coupon circulars. But for those who choose not to clip, there’s often a nagging, guilty feeling that they’ve thrown away cash. So who’s right? Can coupons truly save you a bundle? Depends! If you buy items that you usually do not buy and only buy because of the coupon Ex: For me the “fancy plug into the wall get rid of that dog smell thing” – then no, because really do I need it – No Obviously we all know that coupons are a marketing device to sell products and drive traffic to stores, not to save consumers money. It is the way you use them that determines their ability to help you. Coupons are useful when they save you money on what you’re already planning to buy. So first make a shopping list based on your needs, and at that point check the coupons for potential savings. If only they made coupons for free time. Now, that would be a bargain worth clipping. "
