Keep your toddler busy with a sensory table
After having baby #2, I needed to find something to keep my 2-year old busy. I went to Target and found the I-play Sand and Water Table. What a wonderful find! It comes with several different cause and effect attachments along with a scoop, shovel and strainer. It also has a cover that has a little race car track on it, so you can cover the table when it's not being used. Besides sand and plain water, I've also put fun shaped pasta in the tables, rice, warm water and bubbles with little plastic dishes to wash. I'm looking forward to winter time when I'm planning to put snow in the tables so my son can put on his mittens and play! I've also heard that it would be fun to make a little treasure hunt in the tables by putting pennies and other little treasures for the kids to find.
This is a great idea. We have a sand/water table too, but for some reason it hadn't occurred to me that we could move it into the basement for winter. Thanks!
Thanks for this tip!! I worked as a preschool teacher years ago and know how valuable these tables are especially during Boston winters. As a new parent, I had no idea where to look for one that was not designed for a classroom setting - price included! So thanks again!
