Koreana: Korean food in Cambridge
My husband and I tried this restaurant recently and had a great time. It's a very lively and fun place, and the servers were really friendly. We also loved the food. They have traditional Korean barbecue, which you can do right at your table if the whole party orders it, along with the usual Korean sides, including two kinds of kimchee. They also have sushi. There were many families there, too, so next time we'll take our daughter.
Best Korean food in Cambridge, but grills at the table mean no bbq for certain families with certain kids. Several newer Korean spots in the Allston/Brighton (BU) area have better food. But for the most kid-friendly place, try Korean-Chinese food at Buk Yung in nearby Union Square, Somerville. They have dishes which seem to appeal more generally, plus it's rarely crowded and no tabletop grills is kid-friendly. Recommend any of the Korean fried rice dishes (bokum bap) or galbi/bulgogi (standard Korean bbq) or their specialty jajangmyun (Chinese Korean noodles in black bean sauce) or tangsooyuk (sweet & sour beef or pork). For parents, bibimbap or gampoongi (spicy kung pao chicken, which tastes like General Gau's chicken but better!).
Good food, but if you go with kids, remember to get there early because it gets crowded. Our kids get a bit crazy when they have to wait, so getting there early helps :-)
