Looking to Help in the Haiti Relief Effort?
My family and I were researching ways to help support the relief effort in Haiti and I came across this article listing the various charities assisting with aid to the victims. First and foremost , as the article emphasizes, we should all donate with caution and be weary of scam artists trying to solicit your money - donate wisely and with care. Also be sure to report any suspicious solicitors or con artists. I would recommend thoroughly researching any charity before giving - even those listed in this article. Anyway, check out this list or as others have opted to..."text" in your donation. Several people i know have found this to be the most efficient means of contributing. I have also had others tell me they have donated their gently used shoes to the nearest Sports Chalet (you have until Jan 31 to do so..) who are working with Soles4Souls to provide shoes to the Haitian people. Happy "Giving"!
I think your link may be messed up because when I clicked on it, it said "page not found." However, I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gives 100% of your donation to Haiti. So not only are you not getting scammed, but you can rest assured you are actually helping Haiti, not helping the workers of some non-profit "charity" organization.
