Quick, Delicious Lunch
You know how you grow up with something and don't realize that the rest of the world doesn't have it? Noodles and Cottage Cheese is a delicious, quick, comfort food kind of lunch, and I didn't know it was really only common in Jewish families. Anyway, all you do is make egg noodles (or substitute elbow macaroni) the usual way, and mix in about equal parts cottage cheese. The cottage cheese will melt slightly, making a kind of cream sauce, and the noodles will cool off, making the dish lukewarm. It's traditional to add pepper and if desired, garlic powder. In my family, we add nothing. Mmmm..... I don't think there will be leftovers but if there are, they're good cold the next day.
