Kids' Clothes: Don't forget that the best way to save is to get them for free! I do not have relatives with kids the right age or gender to get hand-me-downs, but have found families at our church who are happy to pass on gently used clothes for my girls. Both love it when the big plastic bin comes out of the attic and they get to try on "new" outfits. I rarely have to buy any clothes beyond socks and underwear, and I've totally avoided the hassle of bringing kids to the store, or making returns for items that don't fit!
