Several times I've almost bought those cute individual cupcake plastic containers, so that the kids can take a cupcake to school without squishing the icing. But we so rarely have cupcakes, I know that we'll use it once, put it "somewhere safe" and never see it again. Then I remembered a trick I used to use: when making homemade cupcakes, instead of frosting the top, cut off about 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch from the top, ice the middle, and pop the top back on. Now, you can put the cupcake in plasticwrap and it won't squish. Bonus: you can hide a surprise under the top, like a few m&ms.
That's a really cute idea!
