Now that school is back in swing, I often find myself struggling with new and healthy items to pack in my kids' lunchboxes. This means striking a balance between what they will actually eat, and what is good for them.
I found this article on WebMD that gives a nice overview of what's new in healthy supermarket lunch options. This article highlights healthy snack options with a clear breakdown as to the pros and cons of each snack, and what they provide, or don't provide, as far as nutrition (i.e. fiber, fat, sugar, etc..).
Each lunch offers an opportunity to improve your child's diet, energy level, and overall health. Lunchtime choices can make a big difference toward the daily and weekly totals for calories, fat, saturated fat, fiber, sugar, and sodium. Plus, you'll want those brains to be functioning at top capacity.
