Activity Overview
7 Whales Watch are run by a family with a long history working on the waters of Gloucester, Massachusetts. For over seven decades three generations of the family have worked from the docks here so who better to take you out and show you the most impressive marine life the area has to offer? That includes some truly beautiful creatures like humpback, finback and blue whales along with dolphins, seals, sharks and sea turtles. The trip is also fun for birders as they will have the chance to see many different local birds.
Things to Do
- All whale watching trips take place on their ship the Privateer IV. This ship was built specifically with sightseeing in mind and could hold 300 people though 7 Whales Watch only ever put a maximum of around 150 people on to ensure that everyone gets a good view of the whales themselves.
- Once you depart you will receive a talk about the local marine life from a naturalist who will also point out buildings of historic interest on your way out of Gloucester. Then the captain will take you out onto the waters to go in search of the whales.
- Though it cannot be guaranteed that you see whales, they are wild animals after all, the crew are experienced and have a great success rate in finding the giant sea dwellers.
