Activity Overview
Forget your worries and enjoy the laid-back vibe of Atlantic Beach. The charming, quaint city is known for long stretches of beaches along the coast of Northeast Florida. Other beaches, such as Jacksonville, Neptune, and Baldwin, are also in the same area but Atlantic Beach is preferred by locals because it's less crowded and quiet. This beach is tucked in the residential area of Jacksonville so it's less commercial than the other beaches and there are no high-rise condos.
Things to Do
- Camp with the family at the beach. You'll find less crowded spots if you go north of the Atlantic Beach. Pack some food, play frisbee, run by the beach, and spot some shells. Bring all the things that you need because there are no establishments by the beach.
- Bring your dog for a walk. Dogs are allowed on the beach, just keep them on the leash.
- Go for a jog, run, or walk. The sand is hard-packed and is good enough even for barefoot running. The view is especially stunning during sunrise.
- After a day with the sun, sand, and sea, visit the surrounding area and find plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
Atlantic Beach Insider Tips
- There are no bathrooms but there's a shower so you can rinse off.
- Depending on the season, it might be hard to get a parking spot near the beach. Try to find parking in the residential areas.
