Barber Motorsports Park & Museum
Activity OverviewIf you drive about 20 minutes to the east of downtown Birmingham, you'll find yourself at the Barber Motorsports Park & Museum. The Barber Motorsports Park covers over 700 acres and is the location of various motorsports events and races. Since 2003, the track has hosted various important races and competitions including the IndyCar Series, the Rolex Sports Car Series (which folded in 2013), and the AMA Superbike Championship. There doesn't need to be a race taking place for the Barber Motorsports Park to be a suitable destination for you and your family to visit. The park is also home to the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum which, while focusing on vintage motorcycles, features vintage sports cars across a collection of over 1,400 different vehicles from over a century of motoring history. The museum was started by Geroge Barber who had raced Porsches in the 1960s and collected classic sports cars. He became interested in motorcycles and began collecting and restoring them before deciding that the world needed a museum that covered the history of motorcycles from all over the world. It was this idea that led to the museum and the collection that you and your family can visit today. Things to Do
