Activity Overview

Basilica of St. Josaphat is a beautiful historic church and a landmark, the church was built in 1901 by the Polish immigrants. The historic church is located in the Lincoln village of Milwaukee. The Basilica was named after Polish saint Josaphat. Building has a visitor center that is open Monday through Saturday and helps in guiding the tourists through the process of tours. The visitor center features exhibits sharing the history of Basilica. The church has a Roman architecture, formal and guided tours of the Basilica are held every Sunday.

  • The Basilica was built by early Polish immigrants in Milwaukee, the design and architecture was reminiscence of a catholic church in Rome.
  • St. Josaphat was named Basilica in 1929, the title is given to few very beautiful and historically important churches.
  • Learn the story and history of the Basilica in the visitor center, brochures for self-guided tours of the Basilica are available.
  • Guided tours are given on every Sunday after the mass. The church has a beautiful dome with tainted glass, murals, sculptures, paintings and more.
