Activity Overview
I have a special place in my heart for buttons and I always have a container of them on hand for crafts. Buttons come in such a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors; much like leaves do. That similarity of uniqueness is what inspired this masterful art project of Beautiful Button Trees.
This is a gorgeous art project that I recommend doing on canvas but you certainly can use other items that you have on hand if the canvas is not readily available. Artists of all ages will all be able to create stunning masterpieces that you will want to display.
Materials Needed
- Canvas or heavy card stock or even cardboard
- Brown Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Assorted Buttons
- Glue Gun
How to Make It
- Use your paintbrush to paint a large tree in the center of your paper, cardboard or canvas.
- The painted brown tree should be void of leaves and include outstretched branches branching out from the tree.
- Allow the paint to dry completely.
- Using your glue gun, adhere a variety of buttons along the lines of the branches but not overcrowding them in any one spot. Use a variety of colors and create a beautiful button display of leaves to adorn the branches.
- Allow the glue to dry and sign your masterpiece with your signature.
