Activity Overview
Even though a power plant may not initially seem like a nice place to spend a family day out, the story of the Big Bend Power Station is different. Every year, the water surrounding this power plant gets above 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which means it is time to enjoy the spectacular site of the manatees gathering around the plant.
The entire family can easily spot the manatees thanks to the numerous observation platforms installed especially for the public to enjoy the sight of the manatees. Besides manatees, you can also spot numerous other types of sea creatures and birds, including pelicans, cranes, and stingrays.

- Free parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the power station.
