Art and Science come together to bring you a spectacular display of colors when you try your hand at Bleeding Ink Spot Art. In this art project, you will be taking advantage of the Science of how ink is made up of different pigments. The ink dissolves into the water droplets and spreads out into separate pigments which cause a beautiful tie dye reaction to occur.
Materials Needed
- Coffee Filters
- Scissors
- Felt Tip Pens
- Water
- A Drinking Glass
How to Make It
- Cut a circle out of a coffee filter.
- Draw a large ink spot into the center of each of the coffee filter circles.
- Lay each circle on top of a class or mug.
- Use your finger to drip a few drops of water onto the ink spot.
- Allow the paper to dry.
