Activity Overview
Blue Bayou is a water park notable for 5 of the world's largest water park attractions (Voodoo, Azuka, Racers, Flying Pirogues, and Conja). Originally built in 1989, the park finds ways to expand, the latest attraction was built in 2009. The water park and adjacent amusement park (Dixie Landin') is in an 80 acre property in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is easily reachable from I-10.
Things to Do
- Try the big 5 water park rides at Blue Bayou. Once you're done with all 5, you can then explore the other attractions (there are 20 attractions in total including the 5 big ones). Take note of the height requirements for all the rides before you go though - as some of these bigger rides have them.
- Float around the lazy river or just chill out poolside in a lounge chair at Hurricane Bay
- Hop over to Dixie Landin' and try out their amusement park rides
Blue Bayou Waterpark Insider Tips
- If you live near the area or want to go to the water park and the adjacent amusement park, Dixie Landin', it's best to invest in the season pass. If you go at least on three separate occasions, the pass would pay for itself and be cheaper than paying for three daily admissions.
- If you are only a visitor and can only visit for at least 2 days, get your ticket validated after your first day and the next day's admission is free!
- For the price of one ticket, you can get in to both parks - Blue Bayou Waterpark and Dixie Landin'. Try to budget your time wisely (ie the waterpark on the first day and the theme park the next day). In theory you can do both in one day.
- Blue Bayou is only open from May - September so plan your trip around those months if you're coming from out of town and create a schedule in advance of what rides to dp first. The summer months are very busy!
