Activity Overview
Blue Lake Park is a 101-acre public park in Oregon. Surrounding the lake are picnic areas, sports fields, and fishing ramps. The park is a great destination for those who want to relax and find some alone time with nature, for those who want to go for a jog, and for spending weekends with the family.
Things to Do
- The family can swim in the lake. Note though that children under 5 are not allowed to swim. You can always take the younger ones to the water spray ground where they can run and play around. Relaxing on the beach is also a good idea.
- Bring your picnic blanket and food and drinks basket and take the family for a picnic. There are many picnic tables available inside the park. It's a great place to organize big family reunions and company gatherings.
- Go fishing at the pier. Fishing regulations apply. You can also rent a paddle boat or a canoe.
- Bike, walk, or run on the paved paths. The park is huge and there are plenty of spots to explore. See the Chinook Village and the sculptures on the west end of the lake or find your own spot to relax.
- Visit the Blue Lake Natural Discovery Garden with your kids. This is a teaching garden where they can see, touch,and smell the plants. There's also a worm bin where kids can dig through and discover interesting things about nature.
- Bring your friends and play basketball, soccer, volleyball, or softball.

- Bring bug spray.
- Park admission is free with $5 per car parking fee.
- The place can be crowded especially on hot, summer days but the area is huge and you can always find a picnic spot for your family.
