Tour the Boehm's chocolate factory and learn how the classic handmade chocolate and candies are made at the Boehm's in Issaquah, WA. You can take free self-guided tours of the factory, these are window tours that can be taken anytime during the business hours. The best time to visit are when candy making is in process usually between 9AM to 3PM. Guided tours are also available by reservation. The chocolate making factory was founded by Julius Boehm in 1942 and the candy factory was moved to Issaquah in 1956. Today, more than 100 types of candies are made, caramels, peanut brittle, English toffee and more. Tours can be taken Monday through Friday.

Things to Do

  • Take free self-guided tours of the factory and see how famed Boehm's candies are made, and see how candies are handcrafted by the expert candy makers.
  • Each window provides information on the section and process of candy making, you can also see the packaging section of candies.
  • You can taste a free sample of the chocolates that were made in front of you, and can buy delicious confections in the retail shop.
  • During the guided tours you can visit the factory and see candy making process right in front of you, guided tours are not free.
  • Tours of the high alpine chapel require a lot of walking and climbing the stairs, strollers are not recommended.
