Activity Overview

Bryce Canyon National Park is beautiful National Park located in southwestern Utah. Its most famous feature is Bryce Canyon, which is not a canyon but instead a collection of natural amphitheaters. It is known for its spectacular vistas, particularly those of hoodoos, distinctive spire-shaped rocks created by erosion. It's a great attraction for nature enthusiasts, especially since it doesn't get as crowded as other National Parks due to its remote location in Utah.

Things to Do

  • Explore Bryce Canyon by using one of the many hiking trails, which are divided into easy, moderate, and strenuous difficulty levels. You can learn more about each of the individual trails here.
  • Attend one of the park's frequent astronomy programs, which invite visitors to come view thousands of stars light up the sky on a moonless night while learning from park rangers.
  • Take advantage of winter activities such as snow hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, winter backpacking, and sledding!

Bryce Canyon National Park Insider Tips

  • Make sure to wear good hiking boots and carry plenty of water if you plan to spend the day hiking.
  • Spend an entire weekend enjoying the great outdoors by camping at one of the parks' two campgrounds.
  • Many consider the park to be even more beautiful in the wintertime than in the warmer months, so consider visiting on a snowy day.
