Visit the California State Capitol Museum and experience a tour of the exhibits room featuring statues, restored historic offices of the secretary of state and the governor of California. The museum is concentrated on the basement and first floor of the California state capitol building in Sacramento, California. The building is home of the California State Legislature. The surrounding capitol park has 40-acre of gardens, the gardens feature memorials of significant Californians. The museum offers free admission, and is open year-round for tours.
Things to Do
- Visitors can tour the museum from 9AM to 4PM daily, and take self-guided or guided tours, the theater at the basement shows short films on the history of the State Capitol. Shows are offered daily.
- The museum displays paintings from the early 19th century, murals, statues, and antique furniture. Also, see portraits of 36 California governors in the west wing.

- A coffee cart is located in basement, and two cafeteria's are located in basement and on the sixth floor. Outside food is not allowed.
