- If you're visiting Camelback Mountain with small children, consider hiking part of the Cholla Trail instead of the Echo Canyon Trail. It is less difficult and less crowded, and it provides hikers with more opportunities to encounter native wildlife such as Harris antelope squirrels, cottontail rabbits, and lizards.

- It's common to see rattlesnakes on the trails at Echo Canyon Recreation Area, but don't worry - they won't bother you as long as you leave them alone and give them enough space to move away from you.
