Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge
Activity OverviewCat Island National Wildlife Refuge is a nature preserve that conserves wildlife, wetlands, migratory birds and endangered plants and animals, and was established in October, 2000. The wildlife conservatory is located near the town of St. Francisville, Louisiana, nearly 40 minutes from Baton Rouge. The wetlands of the national refuge are home to the Louisiana black bear, the lower Mississippi River runs along the refuge that is home to many migratory birds. The wildlife refuge is spread across 10,473 acres, and visitors can spot many native animals on their visit to the refuge. The wildlife refuge is open year round for public visits, activities offered are hunting, fishing, hiking, and canoeing. Things to Do
