Activity OverviewChattahoochee River National Recreational Area in Sandy Spring, Georgia offers miles of walking trails, boating and kayaking on the Chattahoochee River and fishing. The National Recreational area provides opportunities for outdoor recreation for the families, miles of the River that flows on the suburbs of Atlanta can be used for boating, rafting, kayaking, and canoeing year-round. Boating in the river is allowed from Sunrise until Sunset. Fishing on the river that is part of the recreational area is open year-round.
