Activity Overview
Create a work of art that you will want to frame and save forever because it exemplifies who you are in a unique and wonderful way. In this art project, you will need to think of lots of ways that you identify yourself, so give that some thought or jot down ideas before you get started. This is a great lesson in self reflection. Some ideas for describing yourself include: sports that you like to play, music that you like, personality traits, hobbies, friends, family, pets, favorite movies, and other topics that make you...you!
In this activity, you make a thumbprint of your thumb and upload it onto your computer, enlarge it, print it and use it for a background guide for your artwork. In this case, the artwork is not in the drawing but in the words that you use. There is actually no drawing even involved. The words that you use to describe yourself will be written in different colors and will move with the natural lines of your personal thumbprint.
