Activity Overview
Known as Buffalo's version of NYC's Central Park, Delaware Park is gem of the city. The 350-acre park is divided into two by the Scajaquada Highway. On the east side is the Meadow Park where the golf course and athletic fields are located. On the west side of the highway is the area where you'll find Hoyt Lake, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and the Buffalo History Museum. Park amenities include a golf course, bowling lanes, tennis courts, athletic fields, playgrounds, and picnic tables.
Things to Do
- Plan a fun-filled activity day for the family. Start with visiting the museums and art gallery. After seeing the collections, walk towards Hoyt Lake and spend time exploring the lake area. You can also rent paddle boats if you wish to go in the water or you may run or walk around the trails surrounding the lake. Watch egrets, herons, and squirrels share the trails with you.
- Play in the athletic fields (softball/soccer/rugby), practice your swings with a game of tennis, or take the kids to the playground.
- Visit the park website and check the schedule of events. On some days they hold Movies in the Meadow, Fitness in the Parks, or a Concert Series.
