Activity OverviewDonner memorial state park near Lake Tahoe, CA commemorates the Donner party immigrants of which nearly half of the immigrants couldn't survive the harsh winter storm of Sierra Nevada in 1847. The Emigrant Trail museum shares the tragic story of the immigrants that were struck by storm while on the way to California. The park boasts of many outdoor activities for the families like hiking, boating, fishing, skiing in the winters. A pioneer monument is located near the visitor center.
