Activity Overview
Set those imaginations to work to create new and silly animal creatures by combining two or three species of animals together and taking their features to blend them together into a unique and imaginative piece of art. The sky is the limit with what you can create.
Perhaps a giraffeapottomas or a porcuturtle or maybe a zebrachickephant will adorn your piece of paper. Children of all ages will enjoy getting silly with this fun drawing activity that can be done just about anywhere. Sometimes it is fun to get a little outrageous and mix things up a bit. Creating your own crazy species of animals will accomplish just that.
Materials Needed
- Paper
- Crayons, markers or colored pencils
How to Do It
- Make a mental or a physical list of animals.
- M animal species up in groups of two or three. Look for the silliest looking and most outrageous sounding combinations that you can think of.
- Now, draw a picture of your made up creature using prominent and recognizable features that are distinct to the animals that you have selected.
