Activity Overview

Easton's Beach is the largest public beach in Newport, Rhode Island, which is about two hours south of Boston. This beautiful 3/4-mile beach is the perfect place to spend a day in the sun with your family due to attractions that include a boardwalk, a historic carousel, an aquarium, a playground, and a skate park. It also contains all the amenities you need in order to stay at the beach all day long, including indoor and outdoor showers, a snack bar, first aid, a shade pavilion, restrooms, and a picnic and grill area.

Things to Do

  • Relax on the beach, build a sandcastle, or cool off by going swimming.
  • Go for a ride on the historic carousel, which dates back to the 1950s.
  • Check out the exhibits at the Save the Bay Exploration Center & Aquarium, where you can see dozens of marine species that live in the area, including lobsters, sharks, and crabs. There are also three touch tank exhibits that children are sure to love.

Easton's Beach Insider Tips

  • Make sure to follow the beach rules - kite flying, frisbee throwing, and ball playing are not allowed on the beach in order to ensure the comfort of all beach visitors.
  • When you get hungry, grab a bite to eat from the popular Easton's Beach Snack Bar.
  • If your child loves the carousel, consider purchasing a prepaid punch card which gets you 10 rides for $5 instead of paying the normal $1 per ride fee.
  • View their special events page to learn about upcoming concerts and programs on the beach.
