From Friday to Sunday, the Philadelphia home of Edgar Allan Poe can be explored. A Ranger guides visitors through the three-story, brick building where Poe lived with his wife and mother-in-law.

Things to See & Do

Watch an 8-minute, informative film on the life and works of one of America's most provocative, mysterious writers.

Included is a tour of the cellar, which is thought to have inspired one of the settings in Poe's work, The Black Cat, written while he lived in this establishment.
