Activity Overview
The non-profit Fossil Rim Wildlife Center just outside of Glen Rose, Texas is the place to visit if you want to see many of the genuine beasts of the Serengeti. Here you can find giraffe, zebra, antelope and much more besides. They are fascinating creatures left to roam in a habitat that is made to be similar to that which you would find in Africa. You can enjoy this fantastic landscape and all manner of animals from the seat of a jeep or a bus as you tour around.
Things to Do
- The most relaxing way to see the animals and landscape at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is to take a guided tour. They have so many to offer that the hardest part is simply choosing one. The most comprehensive tour is the Adventure Tour where you will get to see behind the scenes and speak to many of the employees at the center. Photo enthusiasts could opt for the Photography Tour which includes a workshop on how to snap better pics and a drive timed with dusk to catch the perfect light for spectacular results. The Murder Mystery Dinner and Tour meanwhile is something a bit more fun where your tour is married to a "who dun it?" case!
