Activity Overview
The Mclung Museum of Natural History & Culture (also known as Frank H McClung museum) is located in the campus of the University of Knoxville, in Tennessee. It was originally built in 1963 and hosts several permanent exhibits among numerous subjects: archaeology, natural history, arts & the history. Conveniently located to the downtown area of Knoxville, this museum is worth a visit for you and your family on a trip to the city.
Things to Do
- See the exhibitions - from the permanent exhibits, to the rotating special exhibits that change every few months, your family will have something new to see each time you come and visit.
- Attend an event - The museum has events going on every couple of days, from family fun days, stroller tours through various time eras (such as Ancient Egypt), the museum has something for everyone
- Summer Camp for the kids - the museum offers summer camps with rotating topics/themes per week so the kids won't be bored! One week may be fun with fossils, and the next may be ancient art! Additional charges may apply.

- The museum is open every day of the week except for holidays: New Years, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Check their website for more information for more information.
- A campus parking permit may be needed during the weekdays, so only park on specific areas. Free parking on weekends though (no need for the parking permit!)
