Activity Overview
The story of the Fuquay Mineral Spring Park is closely connected to the growth of the town which took its name Fuquay Springs. In 1858 the spring was discovered by Stephen Fuquay a local farmer and descendant of a Frenchman who had fought in the Revolutionary War. Promoting the spring as having healing powers the Fuquays saw the popularity of the attraction grow, first in their own community and then among others further afield. Right through the first half of the 20th Century the springs remained a popular destination for visitors. Today this period is remembered with a beautifully kept park around the spring.
