Families and friends will enjoy this twist on the classic game of shooting marbles. There is a lot of fun to be had with much larger balls of different varieties acting as the marbles. The more variety of balls that you have to play this game the better, because it will present more of a challenge with different weights and sizes and shapes of the balls in the hoop. This backyard game provides for a little bit of challenge and lots of laughs for kids of all ages. It is also a game that can be played and enjoyed by a wide array of ages.
Materials Needed
- Sports balls of all sizes
- A large rope or a hula hoop.
How to Play
- Gather as many different shaped balls as you can find.
- Create a large circle in the yard with either a hula hoop or a large role formed into a circle.
- Place all of the balls except for one inside the ring.
- Players will take turns using the one ball to shoot at the "giant marbles" to knock them out of the ring without also having the shooter ball get knocked out.
- If a player knocks any of the balls out of the ring area, then they get to keep all of the balls that they knocked out and they get to roll the shooter ball again.
- The game is over when all of the balls in the ring are knocked out of the circle and the player who possesses the most balls wins.
