Activity Overview

Giraffe Ranch is an exciting animal attraction located approximately 40 miles north of Tampa in Dade City, Florida. Visitors are welcome to the ranch for one-of-a-kind wildlife tours in safari trucks, on camels, or using Segways. The farm is home to a wide selection of exotic animals, including zebras, pygmy hippos, ostriches, antelope, deer, warthogs, and rhinos. If you want to meet the animals up close, you can also add activities such as feeding ring-tailed lemurs or otters to your tour.

Things to Do

• If you have small children, consider going on a Safari Vehicle Tour in a covered safari truck, which will take you through wetlands and woodlands to see animals like Grant's zebras and Indian rhinoceroses!
• Those who desire more of an adventure can go on a Camel Expedition, which allows visitors over the age of 3 to ride domesticated camels led by experienced tour guides to the animal viewing areas.
• Enjoy a modern safari experience on a Segway, which includes a brief training session and a drive to see the various animals at eye level.

Giraffe Ranch Insider Tips

• Tours are available by reservation only, so don't just show up at Giraffe Ranch.
• If you choose the Camel Expedition, it's recommended to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, a hat, and plenty of sunscreen to avoid sunburn.
• Don't miss your chance to feed an otter or a ring-tailed lemur! These extras cost an additional $20 per person.
• Consider printing out the detailed directions they provide from Tampa, Ocala, and Orlando in order to avoid getting lost on your way to the farm.
