Activity Overview
Magicians of all ages will have fun challenging their friends and family to this simple magic challenge. The family challenge is to get the glasses arranged in the proper order by only moving one glass. Most people won't even think of the actual solution to this challenge until you perform it for them yourself.
Materials Needed
- 6 glasses
- Water
- Food Coloring ( optional)
- Partner to challenge
How To Do It
- Line up 6 glasses in a straight line on the table.
- Fill the first three glasses with water and add food coloring for a little extra flair.
- Leave the last three glasses empty.
- Switch glasses 2 and 5 to demonstrate how the end result should look. The object is to get the glasses in a line so that every other glass is filled.
- Challenge your partner to assemble the glasses so that every other glass is filled while only moving one glass to make it happen.
- At the conclusion, take glass number 2 and pour it into glass number 5. Tada!
