Discover similarities and differences of the world's many cultures through your inspection of over one million objects at the Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology. The work of anthropologists and archaeologists can be explored and understood further at this productive teaching museum of Brown University.

Some of the museum's many exhibits include Hoods, Mittens and Collars:Icelandic Clothing from the 15th to 18th Century, Toys Curated by Small Hands, Reimagining the Americas, Reframing Haiti, and Believing Africa.

Things to Do

  • Make an appointment with a CultureLab assistant for the chance to use all five senses and examine objects from the museum's permanent collection up close.
  • Through the CultureLab, visitors can also test out an exploratory activity or complete an anthropological class assignment from Brown University.
