Activity Overview

Sprawling over 50 acres of land the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden offers a wonderful variety of gardens to explore. They can be enjoyed for the great selection of flowers in bloom throughout the year. Parents will be glad to know that this is not a snooty Garden but one which tries to involve children as much as possible with educational programs and special events. There is plenty for adults to enjoy too in this tranquil and beautiful place.

Things to Do

• You should start your visit at the E. Claiborne Robins Visitors Center. This gorgeously designed Georgian building houses a shop, a café and an exhibit gallery. Then you can make your way through the various highlights throughout the entire Garden such as the Rose Garden which is home to over 80 varieties of roses and their Asian
• The Garden makes volunteer opportunities available for almost all ages. Children as young as 13 can take on roles in summer camps or on vocational programs; some of these opportunities are also open to teenagers with special needs.
• On certain days during the year hole families can sign up to volunteer together though this isn't recommended for kids under 6. Find out about all of these opportunities on the Garden's volunteer page.
