Holliday Park Nature Center

Activity Overview

Holliday Park is one of Indianapolis's oldest and family-friendly parks, the park is a nature's haven as it has 94 acres of woodlands and nature trails. The Holliday Park Nature center provides ample opportunities of wildlife viewing from its observation area. The nature center focuses on educating children and adults about the Park's natural and environmental history, the nature center features interactive activities for the kids. The nature center hosts classes based on nature themed activities. Admission to the Holliday Park and the nature center is free, it's open Monday through Sunday.

Things to Do

• Families should visit the Holliday park and it's nature center to educate children about the environment, wildlife and its preservation.
• The bird and wildlife viewing area has animal feeding stations, you may spot a deer, fox, beaver, rabbit, squirrels and other native animals of the park.
• Visit the native wild flower gardens, spot a number of birds, visit the rock garden and the arboretum.
• Want to get up-close to the wildlife in the park? Trek on the nature trails, pass through the wooded ravines; natural springs and wetlands. Hiking on the trails is the best way for bird and wildlife watching.
• Picnic tables are available in the playground, the playground has tunnels, bridges, swings, slides, spider's web and a rock climbing wall.
• The newly opened Habitat Hall has many exhibits, and an elevated hardwood forest viewing area.
• Enjoy fishing, canoeing and paddle boating in the White River.
