Activity Overview
If you live in or around Memphis and are looking for something to do with your family on a nice day, why don't you consider heading out east to Germantown to spend some time in Howard McVay Park? You can get to the Howard McVay Park in around half an hour from downtown Memphis by heading eastwards on the I-240.
The park, which can be found on its namesake road, has a variety of activities for families with children to enjoy whether you feel like relaxing when the weather's nice or enjoying some quality family time while running around! While the park isn't the largest you'll ever visit, it should provide more than enough entertainment for a few hours of family fun.
Things to Do
- If you do feel like relaxing in the park, you can do so on any of the open spaces or in the park's pavilion.
- Let the kids run wild on either of the park's two play areas. One of the playgrounds is ADA accessible.
- Stretch your legs as you head around the lake on the eastern side of the park. There is a walking trail that heads around the lake as well as a wooded area that you and your little ones can explore.
Howard McVay Park Insider Tips
- Make the most of your money by bringing along your own picnic rather than paying for food while you're out and about. The park comes equipped with a number of picnic tables if you've forgotten a picnic blanket! Grills are also available if you feel like having a barbecue.
