Activity Overview

The main draw for the Jackson Street Bridge are the great pictures you can take here. This is possibly the top spot in the city for a great snap of the Atlanta skyline. It should not be missed by photography enthusiasts or by those looking for a great souvenir of their time in the city. Best of all it's absolutely free!

Things to Do

  • Bring along your camera for a shot that will always bring you fond memories. This view is particularly special at sunset when the city is lit up by a special light for a short amount of time. Or if you are really committed go along at sunrise to catch a snap of the city as it is waking up.
  • If you are serious about photography this is your chance to experiment with a variety of techniques to best capture the wonderful view.

Jackson Street Bridge Insider Tips

  • If you are driving you can leave your car at the nearby Martin Luther King Jr. Historical Site. Parking is free at the site. For directions on how to get there check out the National Park Service's website here.
  • Jackson Street is very near to Freedom Park, one of the largest parks in the city, where you can enjoy walking, jogging and cycling. The Park is also home to a number of notable public artworks including a tribute to Martin Luther King and "The Bridge" by Thornton Dial which celebrates Atlanta's vibrant inner-city neighborhoods and the life work of John Lewis.
